Alberta has lost residents to other parts of Canada for the third quarter in a row. Almost 1,300 more people moved out of Alberta for other provinces or territories in the fourth quarter of 2020 than moved in.

On an annual basis, Alberta lost 2,152 residents to other parts of Canada in 2020.

From 2010 to 2014, Alberta gained 120,488 residents from other parts of Canada.

The arrow has reversed direction since then with a net loss of 23,147 residents to the rest of Canada from 2015 to 2020.

Happy St. Patrick's Day

St Patrick's Day is a global celebration of Irish culture on or around March 17.  It particularly remembers St Patrick, one of Ireland's patron saints, who ministered Christianity in Ireland during the fifth century. St Patrick's Day is celebrated in countries with people of Irish descent.  Patrick's Day, is celebrated on March 17 because that is the day Saint Patrick himself died.

Policy Interest Rate Stays Put: Bank of Canada

   

The Bank of Canada announced* this morning it is keeping its trendsetting policy interest at 0.25 per cent.

The Bank also announced its quantitative easing program will continue at its current pace of at least $4 billion per week.
